About: While mythology tells us that the Ganga originated from the entangled locks of Lord Shiva who sent her down to give life to millions and wash Gangesaway their sins, it was only in the 19th century that explorers realized that the Ganga’s source was the Gangotri Glacier –one of the largest glaciers in the Himalaya.
