Location: Ahilya Fort is located on the sacred Narmada River, in the town of Maheshwar, approx 90kms from Indore.

About: The 18th century Ahilya Fort was the capital of one of India's celebrated women rulers - Ahilya Bai Holkar. Built in 1766, it is a typical example of the Maratha architecture of the period.

Accommodation: There are 12 rooms (including suite, superior and standard rooms) and 2 Royal tents. All superior rooms have either a stunning view of the river, a private balcony or a private garden. The suite has a separate sitting room and a spacious balcony. The tents are large and comfortable and very private, being tucked away in a private garden with spectacular views of the river and temples. All rooms are furnished in neutral, natural fabrics.
