Forsyth Lodge

 

Location: Forsyth Lodge at Satpura National Park (Madhya Pradesh, India) near 1.5 hours from Pachmarhi / Pipariya is a wonderfully stylish and comfortable lodge situated in approximately 45 acres of jungle about a kilometer from the northern edge of the Tawa Dam.


About: Satpura National park is a relatively new Park having good Tiger Population alongwith others such as Leopard, Sloth bear and varieties of birds. Satpura lies on a 4000 ft asl plateau surrounded by the reserve formed by the Tawa Dam makes it one of the most spectacular sanctuary for game drives in Central India.

Forsyth Lodge is the first lodge to come up in the area, the guests can enjoy wildlife sightings and views in an area that is completely devoid of any other tourists.
 

Accommodation: Accommodation comprises 12 individual cottages (8 twin and 4 double). All rooms are centrally air-conditioned, have overhead fans. Hairdryers can be provided upon request and bathrobes are provided. The spacious bathrooms have showers but not tubs and plenty of hot water. Hot water bottles are provided through the winter. The bathrooms have hot running water. Heaters will be provided in the cold winter months.

The cottages and main lodge are primarily constructed of mud and wood and are inspired by local village designs. The rooms are light and airy with subtle furnishings which blend with their environment but which are a treat to spend time in. Spacious private verandahs face out into the surrounding jungle.

How to get there:

 

By Flight: To Bhopal or to Jabalpur followed by a 3 hour drive.

 

By Train: To Bhopal followed by a 3 hour drive. To Piparia or Itarsi, followed by a 1 ½ hour drive.

 

By Road: From Pench – 7 hours. From Maheshwar – 8 hours. From Panchmarhi – 1 ½ hours. From Bhopal – 3 hours.
