About Us: Auli is nestled in the lap of the snow-capped peaks of Garhwal Himalayas in the Chamoli District of Uttarakhand, near the world famous religious shrine of BADRINATH, the UNESCO HERITAGE SITE OF NANDA DEVI BIOSPHERE RESERVE along with the VALLEY OF FLOWERS NATIONAL PARK.
At an altitude of 2,500-3,050 metres above sea level, Auli's well-dressed ski slopes are flanked by coniferous and oak forests and offer a panoramic view of the big Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Mana Parbat, Dunagriri, Beethartoli, Nilkanth, Hathi Parbat And Ghori Parbat.
While Skiing is what put Auli in the international tourist map, there is so much more to this unique place. Come to Auli for the quintessential Himalayan experience of towering peaks, Rich and unique flora and fauna of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary & the Valley of Flowers, spiritual significance of Badrinath & Hemkund Sahib and the untainted pure Himalayan way of life in the small villages and hamlets of the bhutias, the original inhabitants of this magical place. And of course there is the View!
Nestled high in West Himalaya, India's Valley of Flowers National Park & Nanda Devi National park are renowned for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and outstanding natural beauty. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, brown bear and blue sheep. The gentle landscape of the Valley of Flowers National Park complements the rugged mountain wilderness of Nanda Devi National Park. Together they encompass a unique transition zone between the mountain ranges of the Zanskar and Great Himalaya, praised by mountaineers and botanists for over a century and in Hindu mythology for much longer.
Auli is a mecca for skiing enthusiasts, professionals and first timers alike and French and Australian experts who surveyed the slopes favourably compared the slopes of Auli to the best in the world. A 500 m long ski-lift carries skiiers back to the slope top, thus saving them the trouble and time to bridge up wearing long skis.
The famous Kuari Pass or Curzon's trail as it was called earlier is one the most
spectacular treks in the Indian Himalayas for its views, encounters with High
altitude shepherds (Gujjars), Bugyals and stunning views of Nanda Devi and
associated peaks.
