Location: The Serai is a luxury oasis and a destination resort situated in a coffee estate at 7 kms from Chikmagalur, Karnataka and Approximately 250 kms from Bangalore.
 

About: The Serai is part of the Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company, which has 10,000 acres of coffee cultivation in and around Chikmagalur. The resort is set amidst 70 acres of coffee plantation and boasts a built up area spread around 7 acres.

Chikmagalur is a district in Karnataka where coffee was first cultivated in India. Rivers like Tunga and Bhadra have their sources in the mountains here which are part of the Western Ghats. Chikmagalur district also contains Mullayanagiri, the highest peak in Karnataka. The hill stations, the waterfalls, the historical temples and the wildlife sanctuaries make this region a tourist attraction.

The Estate Terrace: The two tiered villa has an elevated position with views of the coffee plantations and the surrounding greenery. Room has ample space and a private pool.

How To Reach:

Road: Chickmagalur is reachable by road from Bangalore (240 km). Bus journey takes 5.5 hrs either via Kadur (NH206) or Hassan (NH48). Mangalore is 170 km away.

Rail: Train journey takes almost 3 to 3.5 hrs (till Kadur). As of now there is no direct connectivity by train (Rail line between Kadur and Chikmagalur is under construction), One need to alight at Kadur and take bus to Chikmagalur for (40 km) 45 minutes.

Air: Chikmagalaur is connected by air to Bangalore (240 km) and Mangalore (170 km).

Kemmangundi: 55 km north of Chikmagalur; height of 1,434 meters; thick forests and a salubrious climate through the year.

Mullayanagiri: 16 km from Chikmagalur; 1930 meters above sea level; tallest peak in Karnataka
