Har Ki Dun Trek


SEASON : April to June and August – November
An easy and popular excursion with eating shops. Access is by bus or jeep from Dehradun to Netwar (1380 m.) and Sankri (1450 m.).

Day 1st Dehradun - Sankri


Day 2nd Sankri - Taluka (1900 m.) . The trail leads along the south side of Tons river , climb gently over mountain slops, crosses a stream than bears down towards the river again . An undulating trek continue for over 7 km. to Taluka.

Day 3rd Taluka - Seema/Osla (2500 m.) . Take the lower of the two trails which follows the river stream . After 9 km. cross a bridge over a side stream near a watermill , where the trail divides , one turns left over the river , the other goes straight ahead follow the latter through undergrowth for 5 km. to the Seema . Osla village is seen perched on a ridge top on the left across the Tons river.


Day 4th Seema - Har ki Dun (3566 m.) . A pleasant final outward day with views southeast of the Swargarohini Group . Cross the main river bridge climb steeply for 30 min. and slant below Osla to cross open slopes and meadow , leveling out to reach the grass carpet valley of Har ki Dun.


Day 5th Har ki Dun - Seema


Day 6th Seema - Taluka


Day 7th Taluka - Sankri


Day 8th Sankri - Dehradun.
